First Pro-life Witness - Saturday 3rd. March 2007

The very first Helpers of God's Precious Infants Peaceful & Prayerful Pro-life Procession took place on Saturday 3rd. March 2007.  Mass was con-celebrated by Fr. Fidelis from the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and Fr. Michael Corbett (Parish Priest) at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Worswick Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne at 9.00am.  A Rosary Procession to Newcastle's Centre for Life followed where a witness and recitation of the Rosary was prayed outside of the building.  Many people from the Hexham & Newcastle Diocese and from other parts of the country supported us on this day.  Our London Helpers Rose and Michael were with us and their help and support was and  is invaluable to us.

2nd. Vigil - Our Lady of Sorrows - Saturday 15th. September 2007

Our second Peaceful and Prayerful Pro-life Procession was held on Saturday 15th. September 2007, starting with Holy Mass at 9.00am which was con-celebrated by Fr. Angelus (Franciscan Friars of the Renewal) and Fr. Michael Corbett (Parish Priest) at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Worswick Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  A Rosary procession and witness followed through the streets of Newcastle to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral where we gathered at the steps of the cathedral and congregated around the statue of Cardinal Basil Hume.

There was a great turn out of people that day.  This was also the last pro-life procession involving Kevin Gilfoyle before he left England to take up a vocation wtih the Franciscans of the Immaculate in Maine, USA.

3rd. Pro-life Witness - Feast of the Immaculate Conception - Saturday 8th. December 2007

Many thanks to all who turned up for the pro-life witness on Saturday 8th. December 2007.  It was an extremely bitterly cold day and many of us braved the elements in order to witness our love for our pre-born brothers and sisters, their mothers and their fathers.

The whole day was grace-filled and went smoothly.

Mass was celebrated at 9.00am at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Worswick Street, Newcastle by Fr. Michael Corbett (Parish Priest).  Fr. Michael's homily was extremely encouraging and uplifting.

Many souls stayed and prayed in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  This is a very important part of the spirituality of the Helpers of God's Precious Infants and is equally as important as the witness march throughout the streets of Newcastle.

The Rosary was led so beautifully by Patrick Lyons.  Patrick also gave a wonderful talk about Our Lady of Guadalupe on the bus from Peterlee.

It was most encouraging to see the religious sisters in attendance.  Thank you for your support.

Kevin Gilfoyle has a special day also, he received his Postulants habit on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.  He is with the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in Maine, USA.  Kevin continues to witness for the unborn himself, having the opportunity to pray outside of an abortion mill weekly in the USA.  He continues to pray in earnest for the Helpers of God's Precious Infants work in the diocese and indeed throughout the world.

Feast of the Annunciation - 29th. March 2008

Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew's RC Church, Worswick Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne on the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday.   As well as our usual banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of the witnesses carried an image of the Divine Mercy through the streets in procession to St.  Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral where we prayed the Rosary and sang hymns.  We returned to St. Andrew's for Benediction.

Feast of the Visitation 9th. May 2009

Our latest pro-life witness was held on Saturday 9th. May 2009 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  The day started with Mass at 10.00am celebrated by Fr. Chris Warren.  The Blessed Sacrament was then exposed for all those who were staying in the church to adore.

All those who came out to witness for the unborn then processed out of the Cathedral bypassing The Centre for Life.  We stopped opposite the Centre for Life with the banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe and remained there silently for a few moments, before proceeding to the status of Cardinal Basil Hume which is located up the steps of the Cathedral in it's little side garden.  We prayed two decades of the Rosary - The Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries and the Divine Mercy Chaplet before making our way back into church for Benediction.

Benediction ended with the Prayer for England and Hail Queen of Heaven was sang. Thanks to everyone who came out to witness and thanks to all the religious around the world for your prayers and good wishes.
